Compete at the 2008 United States National Aerobic Championship and you could represent the USA at the 19th ANAC International Aerobic Championship, 11th International Youth Aerobic Championship, 4th World Junior Aerobic Showcase in Las Vegas!

United States Aerobic Championship – Senior Divisions
Class I, Class II & Masters
The USA National Aerobic Championship will be held July 20 & 21 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Loews Lake Las Vegas Resort. Divisions of competition include Class I Men, Class I Women, Class I Mixed Pairs, Class I Trios, Class I Groups, Class II Men, Class II Women, Masters Men and Masters Women. The first, second and third place Class I winners of the United States National Aerobic Championship finals with a minimum score of 16.00 will advance to represent the USA at the 19th International Aerobic Championship and FIG World Series Los Angeles - USA, July 22-27, 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Loews Lake Las Vegas Resort.

United States Aerobic Championship –Youth Divisions
Junior Showcase, Age Group I & Age Group II
Kids and teens, ages 8-17, from all 50 states will participate in the USA National Aerobic Championship to be held July 20 & 21 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Loews Lake Las Vegas Resort. There are four categories of competition – individual, pairs, trios and group (6 athletes) in three age divisions – Junior Showcase (8-11 years), Age Group 1 (12-14 years) and Age Group 2 (15-17 years).   All youth athletes with a minimum score of 12.00 will advance to represent the USA in the International Youth Aerobic Championship, July 21-26, 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Loews Lake Las Vegas Resort.

Class I athletes placing in the top three positions with a minimum score of 16.00 and all youth athletes with a minimum score of 12.00 will advance to compete in the International Aerobic Championship and International Youth Aerobic Championship – here are the schedules of events:

The 2nd FIG Aerobic Gymnastics World Series USA

The Association of National Aerobic Championships Worldwide (ANAC) and the Federation Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG) have confirmed that the ANAC will organize a World Series Event in conjunction with the IAC, July 21 - 27 in Las Vegas wherein athletes representing FIG national governing bodies can participate in the World Series and International Aerobic Championships.

Judging System - FIG Code of Points
The 2008 USA Aerobic Championship in Class I divisions, International Youth Aerobic Championship (Age Group 1 and Age Group 2) and the World Junior Showcase (national development) will use the FIG Code of Points. The FIG Code of Points may be downloaded from the FIG website – www.fig-gymnastics.org. Class II and Masters will use the FIG Code of Points with modifications (see modifications for Class II and Masters).

USA Championship Entry Forms/USCAF Membership
Completed entry forms must be received by June 1. All athletes representing the USA or participating in the USA Championship or other United States Competitive Aerobics Federation (USCAF) sanctioned events must be members of the USCAF. Rules for ANAC Class II and Masters Divisions

Total Elements: The total number of elements permitted in a routine is 10 plus two ANAC compulsory elements consisting of Jumping Jack Phrase and High Leg Kicks - for example: 10 elements plus two compulsories = 12

Elements Allowed: The elements performed must be within the difficulty level ranked A-E and a value from .1 to .5

A maximum of 1 element may be performed at level F and a value of .6

More than 1 element of .6 = -1.0 per element

More than 10 elements = -1.0 per element

Missed ANAC Compulsory = -1.0 deduction

ANAC Compulsories Defined:         

1. The thirty-two (32) count pattern must be initiated with four (4) consecutive Jumping Jacks.

The Jumping Jack start and finish position must be basic, standing anatomical position.   There are no restrictions or requirements for arm choreography.

Directional change (any direction) and/or traveling (in any direction), during the repetitions of the four (4) Jumping Jacks is permitted.

Minimum competency level:   The action requires a minimum of thirty (30) degrees hip abduction (15 degrees at each hip).

2. Immediately after the four (4) Jumping Jacks have been completed, any combination of standing, rebound sportaerobics    movements and patterns must be choreographed for the remaining twenty-four (24) counts, yielding a total of thirty two (32) counts.

3. The following must not be performed during the Jumping Jack Phrase:

Elements from the Element Pool list.

High Leg Kicks Compulsory

Seated/floor exercises, or non-standing moves (kneeling for example)

4. The difficulty evaluation is based on the performance of the four (4) consecutive jumping jacks.   Creative use of arm patterns and movements is recommended.

0.1 (A) - Stationary

0.2 (B) - Stationary with any change to "facing" orientation

0.3 (C) - Travel to side, back, or front - all four (4) must travel

0.4 (D) - Traveling with any change to "facing" orientation - all four (4) must travel

1. Start and finish position is standing, with part of both beet in contact with the floor.

All four (4) kicks must be in the sagittal plan (forward from the body).

Minimum competency level.   The path of the heel must reach waist level on each of the four (4) kicks.

The four (4) kicks must alternate consecutively from right leg to left, or left leg to right. R, L, R, L or L, R, L R, without interruption or movements in between.

Traveling:   The high leg kicks may travel (Stationary is not required)

Traveling is only permitted forward or backward on a straight line. Diagonal travel is not permitted.

All four (4) high leg kicks must be performed side-on to the judges.

The difficulty evaluation is based on the height (flexibility) obtained by the path of the heel during each kick.   Difficulty value will be assigned according to lowest level kick performed.   Creative use of arm patterns and movements is recommended.

0.1 (A) - Waist height to above waist level.

0.2 (B) - Shoulder height.

0.3 (C) - Head height to above head height.

0.4 (D) - Vertical.
